The Embedded TRNG9880 Random Number Generator
The TRNG9880 is a true random number generator module, for SMT mounting, that you include into a project without having to start a research project on noise, randomness and shielding. It include an ASCII interface, where the operation of the unit can be monitored in real time, to provide clear and precise status and error messages.
The module also have a digital output pin for error conditions. This can be monitored by the application or an LED can be mounted to facilitate direct inspection of the board.
The lead time is currently six weeks. Please contact us if you are interested in the unit; we expect to start the production run in cooperation with our customers.
The TRNG9880 Data Sheet
The TRNG9880 produce 50kb/s delivered on Serial SPI-Slave 2-wire interface. Output can also be requested formatted on UART-ASCII Hex. The operation of the random number source can be monitored on both analogue and digital test pads. Delivery is on sticks.
The TRNG9880 Random Number Source
We have a detailed document on how the TRNG9880 operates.
The TRNG9880T is a sample version that is produced using simpler means. The can is soldered, so these units cannot go into any reflow oven. The software is identical, and the data sheet still holds. The units are intended for small volume production, initial production runs, and for evaluation.
We are also working with the TRNG9880-EVM module, that contain a power supply and an RC occilator for the clock pin. The EVM will simply initial testing, and can also be used as a debugging tool in the production.
